Eyvind Earle painting formerly commissioned by Williams on display

April 9, 2010

Daphne Williams-Fox, Williams’s grand-daughter, kindly sent in the following information to the WCW Society regarding the current public display of a painting by Eyvind Earle that her grand-father commissioned in the early 1940s and that had previously hung at the poet’s house in Ridge Road, Rutherford. The painting is now on display in the lobby of the headquarters of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on Park Avenue South in New York. The work, on permanent loan, will eventually be placed in the World Trade Center after the building is completed in another three years, Port Authority officials have announced.
